I swear there's a god of this that pays attention
Shiny knows the story about the announcers jinxing Mark Price attempt to break the NBA FT record as he missed his last two, after not having done that all year, for the record. Last year, Jose Calderon made 151 of 154 for the new record, pretty amazing if you ask me. He was honored before the game. He promptly missed his first FT. And the second one... |

Unreal
The 'final' book of Wheel of Time is evidently going to be 3 new books by the new guy. Yep. I said I wasn't reading them before and I'm still not going too. GRRM says he's up to 1k+ pages on 'Dance...dragons.' Dude, finish already. I thought it was half-finished when you started, remember? Half the characters in one book and all? sheesh. I now sympathize with Kathy Bates... |

This Star Wars scene bother anyone else?
In the opening minutes of A New Hope, C3-PO warns R2-D2 that "There will be no escape for the Princess this time." Then presumably less than 24 hours later when Luke stumbles accross the hologram of Leia begging for help from Obi-Wan, C3-PO seems to not know who she is: LUKE: Who is she? She's beautiful. THREEPIO: I'm afraid I'm not quite sure, sir. LEIA: Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi... THREEPIO: I think she was a passenger on our last voyage. A person of some importance, sir -- I believe. |

Favorite Bugs Bunny not named What's Opera Doc?
The list is surely endless, I'll suggest one that's not one of the Oscar Winners. 8-ball Bunny, featuring Bugs, a baby penguin, Bogart, and a great twist ending. Duck Season is also perhaps my favorite. What are yours? |

Back from Barca
Had a terrific time, perfect weather, beaches were great, food was fabulous, worst part is always coming back to reality. |

Shiny was *almost* right...
When it was 2-nil USA I was thinking, maybe the US only does score when I'm not watching the game with Shiny at KoP, I guess I better not call him and see if he wants to go there for the 2nd half! Turns out not to matter quite so much....Brasil is really good at the beautiful game. |

Go big or go home June 12 (Bloomberg) -- Italy’s financial police said they asked the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to authenticate U.S. government bonds found in the false bottom of a suitcase carried by two Japanese travelers attempting to cross into Switzerland. The bonds, with a face value of more than $134 billion, are probably forgeries, Colonel Rodolfo Mecarelli of the Guardia di Finanza in Como, Italy, said today. If the notes are genuine, the pair would be the U.S. government’s fourth-biggest creditor, ahead of the U.K. with $128 billion of U.S. debt and just behind Russia, which is owed $138 billion. |
